As a member of International House,
English For Life can only employ teachers
with one of the following qualifications:
· Cambridge CELTA
· Trinity TESOL Certificate
· International House Certificate
· SIT Certificate
These courses have a minimum of 100 hours duration, involve a practica element and are externally observed.
Other certificates can not be accepted.
In addition to one of these qualifications, applicants should have a minimum of a year’s experience in teaching EFL to adults. Experience in teaching business
English; exam preparation or ESP and knowledge of Spanish are preferable.
The main recruitment times are April / May or July; however, contracts sometimes start at other times.

Due to the large number of applications only shortlisted applicants will be contacted. After the reception of two
suitable references an interview will be done by SKYPE or Messenger when the applicant is not in Santiago Chile.
Successful applicants will be sent the terms and conditions before coming to Chile and a contract will be signed in the first week of work.
